Carolyn A. Truby // Associate Attorney
Carolyn A. Truby is an Associate Attorney at Adams Law Office specializing in Estate Planning. Carolyn earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Salisbury University and her Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law. Carolyn began her professional career in accounting and has worked for many years preparing, reviewing, and managing estate, gift and trust tax returns. She has educated and assisted many prospective business owners on the fundamentals of business from formation to dissolution. Carolyn has a gift for making the hard things easy to understand and loves seeing others navigate and overcome life’s challenges.
Carolyn is native to Maryland’s eastern shore but now happily resides in Anne Arundel County. When she is not in the office, Carolyn can be found enjoying diverse interests such as cooking, crafting, sewing, home improvement projects, and balloon decorating and sculpting. Her greatest joy, however, is singing with her two adult children.
Lynee C. Murchison // Associate Attorney
Lynee C. Murchison is an Associate Attorney at Adams Law Office with a passion for helping others. Lynee earned a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast journalism from Howard University and her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law. Lynee is a dedicated professional with a strong background in public service. Over the course of her career, she has honed her skills in drafting and reviewing legal documents, demonstrating a keen eye for detail. Lynee is also driven by a genuine love for teaching and finds a great joy in sharing her knowledge with colleagues, clients, and the wider community.
Lynee is native to Prince George’s County where she still resides with her husband, daughter, and son. Outside of the legal realm, Lynee has a myriad of interests such as making core memories with her children, reading new books with her book club, creating delicious meals she finds on social media, singing with her church choir, and running trails near her home and throughout DC. Her greatest joy, however, is seeing the world one country at a time.
Ava N. Brown // Associate Attorney
Ava N. Brown is an Associate Attorney at Adams Law Office. Ava earned her Bachelor’s degree in English, with a concentration in Professional Writing, from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She earned her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, where she was a member of the Clinical Program and received the award for Outstanding Student from the Clinical Legal Education Association for her work in the Civil Practice Clinic.
Ava has over 19 years of legal experience including zealous advocacy for her clients in court as well being a certified mediator. Her desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of her clients motivates her work in the area Estate Planning. Ava brings all her years of experience with conflict resolution to make sure that families put their affairs in order in such a way that they prevent court involvement and leave a legacy of peace rather than conflict or confusion.
Ava currently lives in Prince George’s County and, when she is not practicing law, enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and traveling the world.
Gabi A. Schmidt // Client Services Coordinator
Gabi A. Schmidt is our indispensable Client Services Coordinator. Gabi is the friendly voice that will greet you when you call and the smiling face that will greet you when you come to the office. She has many years of customer service experience that she applies to her position assisting clients to schedule their appointments. Gabi also assists our team in numerous ways to serve our clients better and is in charge of our seminar and webinar production. Gabi is a wife, the mom of two adult kids, mom to several fur babies, and office mom to our firm’s puppy, Lola!
Christina N. Brown // Estate Planning Coordinator
Christina N. Brown is our Estate Planning Coordinator, and assists our potential clients with scheduling their Legacy Planning Sessions as well as answering questions regarding the asset titling needing in their estate plans. Christina brings twenty years of impactful client services experience to her role at the firm. She is committed to serving clients with the spirit of excellence and her goal is to have a meaningful impact in their lives. She sees her role as the bridge to connecting families to generational wealth building through the estate planning process. At home, she is a mom of two children and she enjoys gardening, walking, and praying.
Tina J. Williams // Legal Assistant
Tina J. Williams is our Legal Assistant in charge of Estate Planning and Guardianship and she also assists with Probate case management. Originally from the Hudson Valley in New York, Tina has over twelve years of customer service experience and loves helping our clients manage the details and documentation needed to keep their cases running smoothly. Tina has a genuine passion for helping others and making sure their needs are met. She is not satisfied until our clients are fully satisfied. In addition to being passionate about her work she takes pride in her other role as mom to her three children. When she’s not working Tina enjoys expanding her knowledge of culinary techniques and sightseeing.
Lorraine V. Lipka // Legal Assistant
Lorraine V. Lipka is our part-time Legal Assistant in charge of document management. Some of our existing Clients probably remember Lorraine as our prior Receptionist before she moved to Texas to care for her newest grandson. We are so thankful to have her back at the office and bringing her positive personality back to our team! Lorraine is not only passionate about her children and grandchildren but also about helping anyone who is in need of assistance. In her spare time, she likes to hike, go to the beach, travel and meet up with friends for an evening out.
Nicholas A. Adams // Legal Assistant
Nicholas A. Adams is a Legal Assistant supporting the firm’s marketing, probate, and estate planning practice areas. Nick has been working his way up from the ground level at Adams Law Office since he was too young to mention for fear of child labor laws, when he would shred closed cases as his way of making Lego money. His goal is to master every position in the firm until one day he will be working in the firm as an Attorney, like his mom – Founding Attorney, Suren G. Adams. Nick is currently a student at Loyola University Baltimore and plans on going to law school after getting his undergraduate degree. In his free time, Nick enjoys rock climbing, photography, gaming, and still loves an occasional Lego challenge.
Krystal B. Lyles // Probate Legal Assistant
Krystal B. Lyles is our Probate Legal Assistant and has 15 years of experience working with probate matters in various roles at Maryland Register of Wills offices. Starting as a Receptionist at the Prince George’s County Register of Wills office, Krystal discovered a passion for public service and estate law. Krystal later served as a St. Mary County Deputy Register of Wills and an Orphans’ Court Clerk. Having gone through the probate process with her own loved one, Krystal’s goal is to give devoted attention and support to families throughout the probate process using her extensive court knowledge and attention to detail. When not at work, Krystal is a mother and stepmother to four children. She also has two feline fur babies that she loves, and a plant collection that is getting out of control. Krystal also enjoys sketching and outdoor activities like fishing and hiking.
Kara D. Gavin // Legal Assistant
Kara D. Gavin is a Legal Assistant at Adams Law Office specializing in probate and also assisting in estate plan signing ceremonies. Kara earned a Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in Communication & Technology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, graduating with honors. Kara has a passion for writing and a strong attention to detail that she brings to her work at the firm. In previous legal roles, she has worked as a Client Services Liaison and Estate Plan Drafter. Kara finds fulfillment in helping clients navigate complex processes while preserving their loved ones’ legacies. Most recently, Kara has returned from a year teaching English abroad in Taiwan as a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Award Grantee. Outside of work, Kara enjoys cultivating her talents in the performing arts, working in youth ministry, and spending time with family and friends.
Jezzie A. Marasigan // Legal Assistant
Jezzie A. Marasigan is one of our invaluable remote Legal Assistants specializing in estate planning. Jezzie is responsible for preparing asset documents including deeds, forms and request letters for asset transfers, and business transfer documents. Additionally, she handles client data entry and manages the deed recordation process. Jezzie tirelessly provides timely and thorough responses to inquiries, ensuring that her colleagues and clients feel valued and supported. While not at work, she enjoys watching movies and anime with her cats, attending concerts, and going on night drives with her best friend. She also enjoys traveling and reading books when time allows.
Victor A. Panaligan // Legal Assistant
Victor A. Panaligan is another of our indispensable remote Legal Assistants, specializing in estate planning documentation. With a meticulous eye, Victor prepares initial client summaries and consolidates essential information for the attorneys, ensuring our clients' wishes are accurately represented in their plans. Victor brings years of experience as a student journalist, showing keen attention to detail and a knack for mastering new topics. He is also an invaluable team player ready to extend a hand to help his fellow co-workers should the need arise. Outside of work, Victor channels his creative energy through calligraphy, poetry, art, and singing along to his favorite musicals.
Shella M. Tuba // Legal Assistant
Shella M. Tuba is also one of our dedicated remote Legal Assistants specializing in the gathering and preparation of initial documents for opening probate estates, guardianship, and estate planning. Shella is a detail-oriented team member, ensuring every piece of necessary paperwork is accurate and complete and providing vital support during the initial stages of legal processes. Drawing on years of experience in the educational industry, Shella brings strong organizational skills and the ability to efficiently multi-task among our various practice areas to her role in the firm. Outside of work, Shella enjoys cooking, watching shows, and spending quality time with her husband and dog.
Lola Adams // Team Puppy
Lola Adams is our team puppy who you may be lucky enough to meet if she is at the office visiting. Her work schedule is very flexible, so she does not grace us with her presence every day. But when she does come in, she is the center of attention, which is her favorite thing to be. She is a teacup Maltese, so she likes attention and people. She is also hypoallergenic, so cuddles are always welcome.
